Meet our Pastor

Reverend kevin nourie

Kevin was born and reared in Donovan where he was an active member in the Donovan United Methodist Church. After graduating from Donovan High School, he attended Marycrest Business College in Kankakee, Illinois and earned an associate degree in accounting in 1982. After a two year stint at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, Kevin took an accounting job at a Kankakee Savings and Loan place.

In 1989, Kevin received his call to the ministry. In 1990, he returned to Olivet Nazarene University and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelors of Arts  in Religion and Philosophy. That same year, he entered McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. In 1995, he graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree.  In 1996, Kevin was ordained as a Deacon within the United Methodist Church.

Kevin has served three appointments within the Illinois Great Rivers Conference. From 1995-2000, Kevin served the two-point charge of Bowman Ave. and Vermilion Hts. United Methodist Churches in Danville, Illinois. From 2000-2004, he served the two-point charge of Newman and Murdock United Methodist Churches. From 2010-2015, he served the three-point charge of Scottland, Clays Prairie and Grandview United Methodist Churches.

Currently, Kevin is serving the two-point charge of Donovan and Crescent City United Methodist Churches. Kevin also serves on the Board of Discipleship within the Illinois Great Rivers Conference.

Kevin’s life mission comes from John 17:4, “I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.” Kevin truly believes that we are all God’s children where He has given each and everyone of us gifts and talents that can be used to help others- physically, spiritually and emotionally. The church can become what God has always called it to be: The Hope of the World.

While working in Danville, Kevin met and then married Mary Parker in 1997, a native of Kankakee, Illinois. Mary is a retired elementary teacher and, also, a children’s writer. They have no children. They enjoy traveling, mountain hiking and camping, neighborhood walking and bicycling, movies, and music. Kevin is an avid Chicago teams sports fan and golfer.
